Total, a French major launches lubricant blending plant in Tanzania.
Officially, the factory was inaugurated on 8 February 2019 by the minister of Trade, George Joseph Kakunda, and the director of investments of Total.
"As a part of its growth, development and dedication to participate and contribute to industrialisation in Tanzania, the company has obtained a US$20mn blending plant that will see the manufacturing and blending of lubricants and grease done in the country along with the establishment of Total innovations and high-tech know-how to Tanzania lubricants industry", Total stated.
This blending plant will also cater various new employment opportunities, enlarged production of lubricants for local utilization at a more appealing price, increased government income via taxes arising out of business growth and exportation of lubricants to neighbouring countries.
The 8 000m2 lubricant blending plant will provide an internal laboratory and a 2200t tank farm enabling to process 22000t of lubricants and 2000t of grease per year, it closed.
