Doto Biteko, Tanzania's Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister, declared that the government intends to produce nuclear energy to be integrated into the national grid to meet the growing energy demand brought on by the growth of the industry.
Under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Tanzanian government directed the Ministry of Energy to ensure that nuclear-generated electricity would be integrated into the national grid promptly," Biteko, stated.
By integrating efforts across public institutions to establish a national nuclear energy program, he emphasised that the government is actively working toward this goal.
Mr. Doto Biteko outlined the benefits of nuclear energy, stating that it is both economical and environmentally friendly.
Under my government's leadership, strong policies and regulatory frameworks will be established to manage nuclear resources and electricity production," Doto Biteko declared.
Additionally, he emphasized efforts to develop nuclear technological skills to apply them to other fields like agriculture and health.
Aiming to help transform Africa's energy environment and accelerate the adoption of nuclear energy using modern technologies, the conference brought together energy participants from all over Africa and beyond.
